Founded in January 2006 in San Francisco, and incorporated as a California Nonprofit Corporation (501c6), BAIA starts hosting networking events in the Spring of 2006.
In its first year of operation, BAIA organizes over 12 business events focused on a wide range of sectors: from software to wine, from automotive to venture capital, from design to telecommunications.
In January 2007, BAIA’s activity is formally recognized and endorsed by the Consul General of Italy in San Francisco.
With the expansion of its activities to other U.S. cities (Los Angeles, 2008 and Boston, 2009) and Italian locations (Milan and Rome, 2008), BAIA establishes itself as the pre-eminent organization focused on bridging knowledge, information, and business opportunities between the United States and Italy.
Since its inception in 2006, BAIA has organized over 50 events worldwide (as of end of 2009). Events span different sectors as they cater to the needs of the professionally diverse US-Italian business community.
